Abstract
Demografski trendovi (negativni prirodni prirast i starenje stanovništva) predstavljaju veliki izazov za održivost mirovinskog sustava. Nužno je podizanje svijest o vlastitoj odgovornosti za primjeren životni standard u mirovini i poticanje privatne štednju za mirovinu. Preduvjet za to je kontinuirano podizanje financijske i mirovinske pismenost građana. Jedan od financijskih proizvoda putem kojih građani mogu štedjeti dodatno za mirovinu su proizvodi životnog osiguranja. Osim dodatne štednje za mirovinu proizvodi životnog osiguranja mogu pružiti klijentima zaštitu i skrb koja im je potrebna u starijim godinama života. Istraživanje provedeno u sklopu ovog rada pokazalo je da je polica životnog osiguranja poželjan oblik dodatne štednje za mirovinu te da je u starijim godinama života klijentima potreban proizvod koji uključuje pokriće za dugotrajnu skrb, a koji trenutno ne postoji na tržištu životnih osiguranja RH.
Abstract (english)
Demographic trends (negative natural population growth and population aging) represent a major challenge for the sustainability of the pension system. It is necessary to raise citizens' awareness of their own responsibility for an adequate standard of living during retirement and to encourage private savings for retirement. A prerequisite for this is the continuous improvement of citizens' financial and pension literacy. One of the financial products through which citizens can save additionally for retirement is the life insurance. Life insurance can also provide clients with the protection and care they need in their older years. The research carried out as part of this paper showed that a life insurance policy is a desirable form of additional savings for retirement and that in the older years of life clients need a life insurance product which includes coverage for long-term care, which currently does not exist on the life insurance market in the Republic of Croatia. One of the ways to improve life insurance products is to offer clients additional coverage and services that they need in their old age. The purchase of life insurance products should provide clients with quick and efficient access to these services.
