Abstract
U ovom diplomskom radu reći ću nešto o Ezopu i njegovim basnama. Naglasit ću razliku između parabole, bajke i basne. Također ću se osvrnuti na uloge životinja u basnama koje, preuzimajući osobine ljudi ukazuju na određene mane ili vrline. Na nekoliko primjera karakterizacije likova iz Ezopovih basni uočit ćemo kako Ezop reflektira i prikazuje ljudske osobine kroz životinje. Basne su oduvijek bile bliske kako dječjem tako i odraslom uzrastu. Pisane su da bi djelovale odgojno na čitatelje. Potrebno je prepoznati pouku i primijeniti je na sebe. Basne su jednostavan način da kroz zanimljivu kratku priču nešto i naučimo. Zbog toga se Ezopove basne čitaju već stoljećima.
