The document Security Policy of Bosnia and Herzegovina defines it with all its elements and way of functioning. The paper will present the structures of the security elements of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the way of conducting internal and external policy and the efforts of a large part of its population towards Euro-Atlantic integration. NATO interventions in Bosnia and Herzegovina first created the conditions for negotiations and the conclusion of the Dayton Agreement. Creation of a modern state opened up questions and aspirations towards achieving full status as a member of Bosnia and Herzegovina in NATO. Neighboring countries and their influence on the entities play a significant role on this path. Opinions differ, and when it comes to joining the NATO alliance, the necessary consensus is not reached. Due to numerous disagreements, the interventions of the international community, mainly through the Office of the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is necessary to calm the situation and ensure the implementation of the provisions of the Dayton Agreement, as well as the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the conclusion, the advantages of Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to NATO are presented, but also the disadvantages in case of a change in policy. In addition, the emphasis was placed on the divergence of politics in the management of the state and the necessity of intervention by foreign bodies in order to comply with the provisions of the Constitution.
