This thesis explores the romantic relationships of young people from alternative care, with a special emphasis on the impact of early attachment experiences on later romantic relationships. It first examines the forms of alternative care and the reasons for removing children from biological families, followed by an analysis of the outcomes of such care on child development. Next, it defines romantic relationships, their significance, and their impact on individual well-being. Furthermore, the thesis explains John Bowlby's and Mary Ainsworth's attachment theories to better understand the context of attachment development and its types, as well as how early attachment affects the formation of later romantic relationships. Special attention is given to the attachment of young people in alternative care and the impact of such care on the formation of attachment. The connection between early attachment experiences and later romantic relationships is analyzed, highlighting the specific characteristics of romantic relationships among young people from alternative care. Finally, the thesis offers guidelines for building healthy romantic relationships among young people in alternative care, emphasizing the crucial role of emotional support and targeted interventions that enable the development of stable and secure relationships.
