Abstract Stirlingov motor je motor koji je zanimljiv znanstvenicima od njegova patentiranja i jedno je od revolucionarnih otkrića zbog toga što je to motor s vanjskim izgaranjem koje mu omogućava pogon na bilo koji izvor topline. Opće je poznato da su količine fosilnih goriva (izvor topline za većinu toplinskih strojeva) ograničena i smanjuju se s dnevnim porastom korištenja. Kako Stirling motor ne mora koristiti fosilna goriva za pokretanje, (današnji motori većinom rade s dobivanjem topline potrebne za pogon iz derivata nafte – diesel, benzin, kerozin), to ga čini potencijalnim rješenjem budućnosti gdje neće biti potrebe za korištenjem fosilnih goriva kao izvora topline. Kao što je i prikazano u ovom dokumentu, Stirling motor je veoma zanimljiv motor sa svojim različitim primjenama. Predstavlja korisnost za okoliš jer ima mogućnost proizvesti električnu energiju iz energije sunca s velikom učinkovitošću (nastoji se postići teorijski stupanj djelovanja jednak Carnotovom stupnju). Takva mogućnost predstavlja veliku prednost jer može energiju besplatnog izvora pretvoriti u skupu izlaznu električnu energiju. Tihi rad predstavlja i udobnost za ljude, ne će ometati primjerice rad ljudi. Prema navedenome, postavlja se pitanje zašto se već ne koristi ovaj motor. Iako je relativno jednostavne konstrukcije, ima puno ograničavajućih faktora koji rezultiraju smanjenom izlaznom snagom. To su posebice, svojstva materijala (kemijska i fizikalna) i rentabilnost (omjer proizvedene snage i utroška). Najviše su učinkoviti pri što nižim okolišnim temperaturama što isto tako predstavlja nedostatak. Više je tipova motora, 3 glavne konfiguracije – alfa, beta i gama, te motori s slobodnim klipovima. Svaka izvedba ima svoje prednosti i nedostatke.
Abstract (english) The Stirling engine is a motor that is interesting to scientists since its patenting and is one of revolutionary discoveries because it is an external combustion engine that allows it to work with any source of heat. It is commonly known that the amounts of fossil fuels (heat source for most of the heaters) are limited and diminished with daily increase in use. Since the Stirling engine does not have to use fossil fuels, (today's engines mostly work on getting heat from petroleum derivatives - diesel, gasoline, kerosene), this makes it a potential future solution where there will be no need to use fossil fuels as a source of heat . As shown in this document, the Stirling engine is a very interesting engine with its various applications. It is useful for the environment because it has the ability to produce electricity from solar energy with great efficiency (attempts to achieve a theoretical degree of action equivalent to Carnot's degree). Such a possibility is a great advantage as it can convert the energy of a free source into a set of electrical energy. Quiet work is also a comfort for people, not hindering, for example, the work of people. According to the above, the question arises as to why this engine is not already in use. Although relatively simple constructions, there are many limiting factors that result in reduced output power. These are, in particular, material properties (chemical and physical) and profitability (the ratio of power produced and consumed). They are most effective at lower ambient temperatures, which is also a drawback. There are more engine types, 3 main configurations - alpha, beta and gamma, and free piston engines. Each performance has its advantages and disadvantages.
