Postura ili držanje tijela podrazumijeva sve one reakcije, aktivnosti i prilagodbe koje neuromišićni sustav mora obavljati kako bi primjereno odgovorio na stalne stimulacije iz okoline. Normalno držanje omogućuje stalnu spremnost neuromišićnog sustava za izvođenje unaprijed proračunatih funkcionalnih pokreta i aktivnosti
