The subject of this paper is to provide insight into loan models in leading Croatian commercial banks, Zagrebacka banka and Privredna banka Zagreb, defining the banking sector in the Republic of Croatia, key determinants of the loan agreement and repayment models. The paper presents the structure of the banking sector in the Republic of Croatia, and differentiates and defines different loan repayment models on the example of the previously mentioned leading commercial banks. The paper is divided into eight interdependent and connected units. In addition to the introductory part, the second part of the paper explains the loan agreement and its repayment models. The third chapter defines and describes in detail the banking sector of the Republic of Croatia and its structure. The fourth part deals with housing loans, on the example of leading commercial banks, while the fifth part explains investment loans, on the example of the mentioned leading commercial banks. Chapter 6 defines investment loans and explains their purpose. The seventh part provides an insight into the loan repayment tables over a period of five years. In the concluding, eighth, part, a synthesis of the presented data and facts about loan models in Croatian commercial banks is presented.
