On October 6, 2020, the SRCE held a webinar about publishing the object Educational content in DABAR repositories.
Members of the Working Group for Educational Content introduced the participants to the activities of the working group, the connection between MERLIN and DABAR systems, and explained what an educational object. Furthermore, they presented the international open standard for the description of educational objects (Learning Object Metadata, LOM) which is used in DABAR. After the presentation, a demonstration of storing a digital object into the repository was shown.
The possibilities of publishing educational content in open access and multiple use of such content are becoming increasingly important in modern education systems. It is important to work on dissemination and education of users about the advantages of content in open access.
