Cooperation with the Central State Office for the Development of the Digital Society (SDURDD) and SRCE, gave repository managers in DABAR possibility to attend the "Digital Accessibility" e-course. The course enrolled 43 participants, while 23 of them successfully completed the course and earned digital badges by fulfilling all obligations. The goal of the collaboration was to enable repository managers to gain a broader view of digital accessibility.
The course for repository managers was held in the period from November 3, 2020 until November 8, 2020 and consists of six units. The first five units have educational materials in the form of lessons through which participants are introduced to digital accessibility, legal provisions and obligations, principles and recommended accessibility requirements, guidelines for creating an initial assessment and compliance statement. The sixth unit contains a practical exercise that participants had to complete and submit in order to successfully finish the course. In order to receive a digital badge and a certificate, the participants had to complete all the assigned activities. Participants could attend the course at their own pace, but within the given period in which they enrolled in the course.
In order to make it easier for people with disabilities to use the repositories in DABAR, the SRCE team refined the repositories interface in accordance with digital accessibility standards in accordance with the Act on Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies of the Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette 17/19) of 23 September 2019, and created a statement on accessibility . With these improvements, the contents of all repositories became more accessible to people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive disabilities.
