Abstract
U današnje vrijeme, kada je uspješno sekvencioniran ljudski i goveđi genom u cijelosti, znanstvenim istraživanjima mogu se pouzdano predvidjeti razne bolesti. Predviđanje bolesti može unaprijediti mnoga područja od interesa poput medicine, agronomije, veterine ili biotehnologije. Mitohondrijske bolesti su raširene i izazivaju razne poremećaje koje detaljnom analizom možemo unaprijed uočiti. U radu će biti prikazan mitohondrij sa svojom funkcijom i potencijalnim sindromima koji izazivaju bolesti. Određena bolest sa svojom mutacijom nalazi se na specifičnim regijama mitogenoma koje se proučavaju, tj. uspoređuju s goveđim mitogenomom u cilju detekcije mutiranih gena. U radu su opisane najučestalije bolesti mitogenoma ljudi koje se mogu pojaviti i kod goveda. Od mnogih bolesti, u radu je detaljno opisana bolest optičkog živca Leber-ova nasljedna optička neuropatija (LHON), njena ekspresija, utjecaj i mogućnost liječenja.
Abstract (english)
Nowadays when the human and beef genome is successfully sequenced, scientific research can accurately detect prediction of various diseases. Prediction of the disease can improve many areas of interest such as medicine, agricultural, veterinary or biotechnology. Mitochondrial diseases are widespread and cause various disorders that can be observed in advance by detailed analysis. The paper will present a mitochondria with its function and potential syndromes that cause the disease. A specific disease with its mutation is found in specific regions of mitogenomes being studied and comparing with bovine mitogenomes in order to detect mutated genes. The most common diseases of the mitogenomes of humans that can occur in cattle are described in the paper. Many illnesses are described in detail in the LHON optical nerve disease, its expression, influence and the possibility of treatment.
