Abstract
U ovom radu istražene su morfološke karakteristike epidermskih stanica te razmještaj pigmenata u laticama male kadifice (Tagetes patula L.). Istraživanje je provedeno na četiri kultivara s različitim bojama cvjetova ('Pack Moon Gold', 'Pack Moon Harmony', 'Durango Red' i 'Durango Bee'). Kod svih istraženih kultivara, epidermske su stanice na adaksijalnoj strani latica bile čunjastog oblika. Na abaksijalnoj strani latica, vanjske stijenke epidermskih stanica bile su uglavnom ravne ili blago konveksne te su samo kod kultivara 'Pack Moon Harmony' u pojedinim slučajevima bile blago stožasto izdignute. Visine i duljine epidermskih stanica se ni na adaksijalnoj, niti na abaksijalnoj strani latica nisu među različitim kultivarima statistički značajno razlikovale. Žutu i zlatnožutu boju laticama davali su karotenoidi, dok su crvenosmeđe latice ili dijelovi latica sadržavali karotenoide i antocijane. Kod kultivara koji su u laticama sadržavali antocijane, ovi su pigmenti bili prisutni samo u stanicama adaksijalne epiderme, u kojima su se nalazili zajedno s karotenoidima. Karotenoidni pigmenti su većinom bili smješteni u epidermskim stanicama, dok su u mezofilu bili prisutni samo u maloj količini. Kromoplasti su se u stanicama adaksijalne epiderme nalazili u bazalnom te u gornjem, suženom dijelu stanica, dok su na abaksijalnoj strani latica bili smješteni gotovo isključivo u bazalnom dijelu epidermskih stanica.
Abstract (english)
In this work, morphological characteristics of epidermal cells and pigment distribution in the petals of a small marigold (Tagetes patula L.) were studied. The research was conducted in four varieties with different colored flowers ('Pack Moon Gold', 'Pack Moon Harmony', 'Durango Red' and 'Durango Bee'). In all investigated cultivars, epidermal cells on the adaxial side of the petals were conical in shape. On the abaxial side of the petals, the outer wall of epidermal cells were mostly flat or slightly convex, and only in the cultivar 'Pack Moon Harmony' were sporadically slightly conical. Height and length of epidermal cells did not differ significantly between the cultivars, neither in the adaxial nor in the abaxial side of the petals. Yellow and golden yellow petal color were due to carotenoids, while the red petals or parts of petals contained carotenoids and anthocyanins. In cultivars containing anthocyanins, the latter were present only in the adaxial epidermis, in which they were located along with carotenoids. Carotenoid pigments were mostly found in epidermal cells, while in the mesophyll they were present only in small amounts. In the adaxial epidermis, chromoplasts were found in the basal and in the upper, narrower parts of the cells, while, in the abaxial epidermis, chromoplast were located almost exclusively in the basal part of the cells.
