Abstract
Zbog povećanih troškova podizadnja, održavanja te ostalih mjera njege konvencionalnih gredica često se u gradovima prednost daje sadnji i uzgoju drvenastih vrsta. Međutim, u sjevernoj i zapadnoj Europi konvencionalne gredice sve se više zamjenjuju trajnim nasadima trajnica. Primjena trajnica ne samo da smanjuje troškove izvedbe već one pokazuju veću otpornost na loše gradske uvjete kao što su smog, sol, prašina, loša kvaliteta tla te manjak sunčeve svjetlosti. Cilj istraživanja bio je analizirati cvjetne gredice na primjeru Nizozemskog grada Groningena. Prikupili su se podaci o broju cvjetnih gredica po odabranim četvrtima, raznolikosti cvjetnih vrsta unutar gredica, determinirale su se pronađene vrste te su se odredili prisutni životni oblici. Pronađeno je ukupno 424 gredica i posuda s ukrasnim biljem od čega je čak 88,9% sadržavalo barem jednu trajnicu. Od determiniranih 69 vrsta njih 60 su trajnice. Grad Groningen pokazao se kao odličan primjer uspješnog održavanja cvjetnih gredica bez velikih troškova i čestih mjera njege biljaka.
Abstract (english)
Due to the high costs of making, maintenance and other care measures for conventional flower beds, planting of trees is often preferred in cities. However, in northern and western Europe, conventional flower beds are increasingly being replaced by permanent perennials. Not only does use of perennials reduce performance costs, but they also have greater resistance to poor urban conditions such as smog, salt, dust, poor soil quality, and lack of sunlight. The aim of the study was to analyze flower beds on the example of the Dutch city of Groningen. Data were collected on the number of flower beds in each of the chosen neighborhoods, the diversity of flower species within flower beds, found species were determined as well as the present life forms. A total of 424 flower beds and pots with ornamental plants were found, out of which 88.9% contained at least one perennial. Out of the 69 species identified, 60 are perennials. The city of Groningen has proven to be an excellent example of the successful maintenance of flower beds without the heavy costs and frequent measures of plant care.
