Abstract
Krmne kulture kao što je crvena djetelina nisu prioritet za provođenje epigenetskih istraživanja. Zbog toga nema dovoljno saznanja o epigenetskoj varijabilnosti te kulture, niti utjecaja ekogegografskih karakteristika na epigenom te vrste. Lokalne populacije predstavljaju vrijedan izvor gena i epigenetskih promjena koje mogu biti od značaja za buduću selekciju. Dublje razumijevanje genetske i epigenetske varijabilnosti, te utjecaja okoline na iste, može biti od koristi u oplemenjivačkim programima. U ovom istraživanju izrađeni su genetski (AFLP) i epigenetski (MSAP) profili deset lokalnih populacija crvene djeteline. Njihove lokacije na području SZ Hrvatske su definirane uz pomoć Ellenbergovih indeksa i geografskih podataka. Utvrđena je viša razina unutarpopulacijske varijabilnosti na epigenetskoj i genetskoj razini, te veći utjecaj ekogeografskih faktora na epigenetsku raznolinost.
Abstract (english)
Forage crops, such as red clover, are not the priority in epigenetic studies. Therefore, little is known about epigenetic variability of that crop or about the influence of ecogeographic characteristics on the epigenome of red clover. Landraces represent a valuable source of genes and epigenetic changes, what could be useful for future selection. Better understanding of genetic and epigenetic variability, as well as the influence of the environment on such variability could prove useful in breeding programs. In this research, genetic (AFLP) and epigenetic (MSAP) profiles have been made for ten landraces of red clover. Their location in the SW of Croatia have been defined through Ellenberg indices and geographical data. The results of the study have detected a higher genetic and epigenetic variability within populations, and larger influence of ecogeographic factors on epigenetic diversity.
