It is obvious that today's global approach to energy is unsustainable and that this leads to an increase in demand for finding alternatives, which in this case are renewable energy sources. In addition, it is a known fact that non-renewable energy sources are the main energy sources with harmful effects on the environment and limited quantities, so due to this global scenario, the use of renewable energy sources is brought to the center of energy policy. To overcome this situation, the greatest contribution is expected from biomass, because in addition to being renewable, its products are also renewable and are sufficiently similar to fossil fuels, which allows their direct replacement. Agricultural biomass (corn, straw, cobs, shells, stalks, etc.) can be used for the production of energy from biomass, as well as waste raw materials such as residues from the wood industry, forest residues from tree pruning. Biomass manipulation procedures are included in biomass collection and logistics centers that connect farmers who own biomass, processed biomass in new products with higher value, continuous development of new products and their placement on the market. All processes included in the production chain are described in the paper, and include the processes of procurement of biomass raw materials, transport, storage, drying, processing and handling of biomass in the biomass plant and delivery of biofuels to customers by service providers.
