Abstract
Cilj ovog rada je ispitati antibakterijsko djelovanje uzoraka matične mliječi sakupljenih na području Republike Hrvatske (RH) prema višestruko rezistentnim, Gram pozitivnim patogenim bakterijama izoliranim iz otpadnih voda. Djelovanje matične mliječi je ispitano kvalitativno, metodom difuzije bunara u agaru prema vankomicin rezistentnim Enterococcus faecium te meticilin rezistentnim Staphylococcus aureus sojevima, te je kvantificirano mikrodilucijskom metodom. Zone inhibicije rasta pokazuju da su sojevi S. aureus značajno osjetljiviji na djelovanje matične mliječi od E. faecium sojeva (S. aureus 16,8 mm ± 6,1 mm; E. faecium 13,7 mm ± 1,8 mm; ANOVA, Bonferroni test, p < 0,001). Također, više su koncentracije matične mliječi potrebne za inhibiciju E. faecium sojeva (MIK 115,00 mg/mL ± 61,00 mg/mL; MBK 141,25 mg/mL ± 68,18 mg/mL) nego za inhibiciju S. aureus sojeva (MIK 34,65 mg/mL ± 18,22 mg/mL; MBK 36,01 mg/mL ± 17,27 mg/mL).
Abstract (english)
The work aim is to examine the antibacterial activity of royal jelly samples collected in the Republic of Croatia against multiresistant, Gram-positive pathogenic bacteria isolated from wastewater. The antibacterial activity of royal jelly was tested qualitatively by the agar well diffusion method against vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains, and was quantified by the microdilution method. Growth inhibition zones show that S. aureus strains are significantly more sensitive to royal jelly than E. faecium strains (S. aureus 16,8 mm ± 6,1 mm; E. faecium 13,7 mm ± 1,8 mm; ANOVA, Bonferroni test, p < 0,001). Also, higher concentrations of royal jelly are required for the inhibition of E. faecium strains (MIC 115,00 mg/mL ± 61,00 mg/mL; MBC 141,25 mg/mL ± 68,18 mg/mL) than for the inhibition of S. aureus strains (MIC 34,65 mg/mL ± 18,22 mg/mL; MBC 36,01 mg/mL ± 17,27 mg/mL).
