Abstract
Čovjek već tisućljećima koristi propolis u farmaciji, veterini, medicini i prehrambenoj industriji, a odnedavno postoje nastojanja da ga se primijeni i u kontekstu suzbijanja biljnih patogena. Povećanjem potrošnje svjeţe hrane, simultano raste i problem njene kontaminacije bakterijama patogenim za ljude. Jačanjem ere ekološkog osvješćivanja, provode se brojna istraţivanja antibakterijskog, antivirusnog i antimikotičkog učinka raznih prirodnih tvari. Uslijed smanjenja izbora konvencionalnih kemijskih pripravaka za zaštitu bilja, ali i činjenice da prisutni prokariotski patogeni postaju otporni na mnoge aktivne tvari, potrebno je razmotriti alternativne, ekološki prihvatljive opcije za tu namjenu, meĎu ostalima i propolis. Dodatno, sposobnost ove kompleksne prirodne tvari da aktivira obrambene mehanizme biljaka, vrlo je obećavajuća.
Abstract (english)
Man has been using propolis for thousands of years in pharmacy, veterinary medicine, medicine and the food industry. Recently there have been efforts to apply it in the context of controlling plant pathogens. With the increase in the consumption of fresh food, the problem of its contamination with bacteria pathogenic to humans also grows simultaneously. By strengthening the era of environmental awareness, numerous researches are being conducted on the antibacterial, antiviral and antimycotic effect of various natural substances. Due to the reduction of the choice of conventional chemical preparations for the protection of plants, and the fact that the prokaryotic pathogens present are becoming resistant to many active substances, it is necessary to consider alternative, ecologically acceptable options for this purpos, such as propolis. Additionally, the ability of this complex natural substance to activate plant defense mechanisms is very promising.
