Abstract
Želatinozni zooplankton jedna je od skupina organizama koja može poslužiti za određivanje stanja, zdravlja i produktivnosti morskih ekosustava. Kako bi se odredio utjecaj temperature na rast jednog od njihovih predstavnika, u ovom je radu obavljeno istraživanje na vrsti uhati klobuk (Aurelia aurita). Nakon strobilacije potaknute temperaturnim šokom efire su držane u eksperimentalnim uvjetima na dvije različite temperature (25°C i 28°C). U vrijeme trajanja eksperimenta (14.06.2021. - 07.09.2021.) praćen je rast razvojnih stadija A. aurita nakon strobilacije u oba pokusna sustava obavljanjem četiri mjerenja. Mjera rasta jediniki bilo je povećanje ukupnog promjera tijela u milimetrima. Za statističku analizu parametara rasta korištena je dvosmjerna robusna ANOVA. Rezultati su pokazali dosljedan uzorak pri čemu su srednje vrijednosti ukupnog promjera tijela bile niže na temperaturi od 28 °C. Navedeno podupire hipotezu da povećanje temperature mora iznad optimuma za vrstu negativno utječe na rast vrste A. aurita, a učinak je izraženiji u kasnijim stadijima razvoja.
Abstract (english)
Gelationous zooplankton is a group of organisms that can be used for assesment of condition, health and productivity of marine ecosystems. In this work the effect of temperature on growth of one of its representatives, the Moon jellyfish (Aurelia aurita) was researched. Ephyrae obtained from thermally-induced strobilation were kept in experimental conditions at two different temperatures (25°C and 28°C). During the experiment (14.06.2021. - 07.09.2021.), growth of divelopmental stages of A. aurita after strobilation was determined by four mesurements. The measure used was total body diameter in millimeters. For statistical analysis of growth parameters, two-way robust ANOVA was used. Results showed a consistent pattern in which the mean values of total body diameter were lower at 28 °C treatment. This supports the hypothesis that the growth of A. aurita is negatively affected by increase in temperature above species optimum, and that the effect is stronger in later stages of development.
