Review of the literature highlighted the main characteristics and importance of mulberry as a fruit crop itself, its positive impact on the environment and human health, as well as its impact on strengthening the economy and use in industry. As a fruit species, mulberry has been cultivated since ancient times for its juicy fruit that can be eaten fresh or processed. It is increasingly used as a plant that has a positive effect on environmental protection by reducing erosion, rehabilitating the soil through planting, and binding harmful gasses. Research has proven the medicinal properties of its plant parts, in which certain pharmacological components have been found. In Chinese pharmacopeia, it has been used since ancient times for treatment and prevention. The leaves of Morus alba (white mulberry) are used as fodder for Bombyx mori (silk mulberry), which produces thin silk threads by secreting compounds from its silk glands. The food industry uses it to prepare various juices, alcoholic beverages, sweet spreads, and other items. Mulberry can also be used in animal husbandry as a supplementary feed for animals. Almost all parts of the mulberry plant are usable, so it can be said that it is considered a suitable plant for sustainable development.
