Humus is an integral part of the organic matter of the soil and its composition depends on the original organic matter, the conditions of its transformation, microbial activity and soil properties. Agricultural production changes the original properties of the soil and consequently the composition of humus. The aim of this paper is based on the existing literature to give the perception of the impact of different agricultural measures (tillage, crop rotation, fertilization, pesticides, water regulation) on the composition of humus in anthropogenic soils, or soils that are influenced by human activities. Many authors have agreed that conservation soil tillage acts favorable to the quality of humic substances compared to conventional tillage. Crop rotation has a positive impact on the quality of humus, ecpecially including legumes. The application of mineral fertilizers can negatively affect the process of humification, while organic fertilizers have beneficial effect on humus quantity and quality. It has been proven that pesticides disrupt the balance in the soil, reduces the activity of microorganisms that are important in the process of humification, and also have the ability to bind to humic substances. The drainage has resulted with an improved air-water conditions in soil and higher humus quality. The impact of irrigation on the composition of humus largely depends on the type and quality of water used for irrigation.
