Abstract
Rad proučava morfologiju i anatomiju crvenih kalifornijskih gujavica, te sustave njihova uzgoja u lumbrikulturi. Gujavice su životinje iz koljena kolutićavaca. Igraju ključnu ulogu u održavanju plodnosti tla i prirodnom procesu razgradnje organske tvari. Promatrana vrsta jedna je od najčešće korištenih u lumbrikulturi zbog svojih povoljnih karakteristika u obradi organske tvari i brzog rasta biomase čime se osigurava stabilnost uzgojne populacije i povećana profitabilnost. Lumbrikultura je savršena akcesorna djelatnost za mnoga poljoprivredna gospodarstva i postrojenja koja proizvode velike količine organskog otpada. Pruža održivo ekološki prihvatljivo rješenje za preradu biootpada i stvara visoko kvalitetan proizvod u obliku lumbri humusa istovremeno smanjujući rastuće troškove odvoza i zbrinjavanja otpada.
Abstract (english)
This work studies the morphological and anatomical traits of red wriggler earthworms, as well as the types of systems used in their vermicomposting production. Earthworms are animals belonging to the annelid phylum. They play a crucial role in maintaining soil fertility. The observed species is one of the most commonly used species in vermicomposting, due to its favourable organic matter processing abilities and rapid population biomass growth which can make their breeding highly profitable. Vermicomposting is a perfect accessory discipline for many agricultural holdings and any business subjects that produce significant amounts of organic waste. Vermicomposting offers an eco – friendly solution for bio waste management, producing a highly valuable product in the shape of lumbri humus, whilst simultaneously greatly lowering the ever increasing costs of waste management and transport.
