Abstract
U ovom istraživačkom završnom radu opisan je operativni proces i ekonomika kompostana u Republici Hrvatskoj, uključujući prikaz njihovog rada, izvore financiranja i financijske učinke. U uvodnom dijelu rada prikazana je teorijska osnova kompostiranja i komposta, s osvrtom na prednosti i nedostatke kompostana u kontekstu održivog gospodarenja otpadom. U praktičnom dijelu rada obrađena je problematika korištenja komposta u Hrvatskoj, te su prikazane osnove poslovanja odabranih kompostana. Uz prikaz poslovanja kompostane Herešin u okolici Koprivnice obavljen je intervju s direktorom Sektora gospodarenja otpadom grada Koprivnice i voditeljem kompostane Herešin.
Abstract (english)
This research paper describes the operational process and economics of composting facilities in the Republic of Croatia, including an overview of their operations, sources of funding, and financial impacts. The introduction section presents the theoretical basis of composting and compost, with a focus on the advantages and disadvantages of composting facilities in the context of sustainable waste management. The practical part of the paper addresses the issues related to compost utilization in Croatia and provides an overview of the selected composting facilities. In addition to the presentation of Herešin composting facility's operations in the vicinity of Koprivnica, an interview was conducted with the Director of the Waste Management Sector of the City of Koprivnica and the manager of the Herešin composting facility.
