Abstract
Cilj rada je bio procijeniti dobrobit svinja u otvorenom sustavu držanja na nekoliko obiteljskih gospodarstava koja drže autohtone pasmine svinja. Dobrobit životinja predstavlja korištenje životinja za potrebe ljudi pri čemu životinje ne trpe bol, stres i nestašice u hranjivim tvarima, vodi i ostalom. Najčešće se procjenjuje na temelju zdravlja, razine proizvodnje, ponašanja i dr. Iako se općenito smatra da svinje koje se drže na otvorenom imaju manje problema sa dobrobiti u odnosu na svinje koje se drže u zatvorenim objektima u intenzivnom sustavu proizvodnje, i u ovom sustavu držanja može doći do problema sa dobrobiti različitih kategorija svinja. Za procjenu dobrobiti svinja korišteni su kriteriji dobrobiti prema načelu "pet sloboda" prema upitniku za dobrobit svinja namijenjenom projektu Horizon2020 – Treasure (Grant Agreement 634476). Kriteriji za dobrobit svinja vezani uz slobodu i prirodno ponašanje zadovoljeni su u svim kategorijama svinja kod obje pasmine. Dobrobit svinja u vidu zaštite od bolesti, boli i ozljeda je bolja kod crne slavonske svinje, nego kod turopoljske svinje zbog boljeg plana zdravlja životinja, odnosno napravljenim cjelokupnim konceptom zaštite zdravlja životinja.
Abstract (english)
The aim of the study was to evaluate welfare of pigs kept in outdoor system on family farms with local pig breeds. Welfare of animals describes use of animals for human purpose without pain, stress, lack of food or water. Usually, evaluation of welfare is based on health status, level of production and animal behaviour. Although it is considered that animals in outdoor system have less issues with welfare, problems with different categories of pigs can occur. To estimate the welfare of pigs, criteria of "Five Freedoms" for welfare were used according to the questionnaire for the welfare of pigs from project Horizon2020 – Treasure (Grant Agreement 634476). Criteria considering freedom and natural behaviour were fulfilled in all categories of pigs of both breeds. All pigs had access to open surfaces, and express their natural behaviour without stress. Welfare of pigs considering health protection criteria was better in Black Slavonian pig, where health protections status was properly monitored.
