Abstract (english) Urban agriculture is a term that refers to a wide range of agricultural investments within the city limits. It raises public awareness of the need to preserve our environment, especially urban soils from future pollution, erosion and neglect. It represents advantages and challenges to the health of the environment, with influence of the gardeners, their neighbors, and in the case of commercial farming their distribution and clients. UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) points out that 800 million people worldwide participate in urban food production, of which 200 million mainly produces for the market, and the rest for their own needs. Urban gardens are spaces where citizens themselves or with the help of experts create their green spaces for food, stay and socialize, thus taking responsibility for the public space in which they stay on daily basis, and contribute to social problems, and even solve the problem of food production on local level. New type of urban gardens had emerged recently in city Zagreb along the already existing wild gardens. Mayor Milan Bandic brought the conclusion on the implementation of the project "City Gardens" at 4. April 2013, which launches the renovation and equipping of arable land owned by the city Zagreb in order to give part of the arable land to citizens of Zagreb for the production of food (vegetables and berries), herbs and flowers for their own use. The purpose of this research is to analyze and study the fauna that occurs on vegetables, spices, flowers and medicinal plants in urban gardens Borovje and Savica in Zagreb in 2016. The fauna present on the vegetable crops, spices, medicinal and ornamental plants was collected by visual observation. Fauna samples were collected and photographed every month. Sample determination was conducted at Department of agricultural zoology, University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture. On city garden Borovje was determinted 28 harmful, 21 useful and 36 random species. On city garden Savica was determined 40 harmful, 22 useful and 29 random species.
