The aim of this research was to determine growth dynamics, morphological properties and yield of winter garlic different ecotypes grown in agro-ecological conditions of the north-western Croatia. The planting material of 20 local winter garlic ecotypes was collected from various counties of Croatia (Zadar, Sisak-Moslavina, Vukovar-Srijem,Virovitica-Podravina, Zagreb, Bjelovar-Bilogora, Krapina-Zagorje, Koprivnica-Križevci, City of Zagreb) during the summer of 2015. Monofactorial field trial was set up according to a randomized block design in three replications during October of 2015. There were significant differences between garlic ecotypes in the plant height, number of developed leaves, yield, mass, diameter and height of bulbs and number of cloves per bulb. The values of the relative growth rate of the plants height of the tested ecotypes indicate a faster garlic growth in the period from 17th March to 20th April. The bulb mass and yield ranged from 6.3 g to 125.2 g, i.e., from 1.2 t ha-1 to 23.6 t ha-1, while the highest values were determined at ecotype E7 originated from the Petrovci in Vukovar-Srijem County. Based on the obtained yield and number of cloves per bulb, ecotypes E9 and E10 originating from Vinkovci, E17 from Lučko and E1 from the Zadar County could be recommended for fresh consumption.
