The notion of sexuality within the visual arts has always been interesting. Although the way of presenting the naked human body has been altered throughout history, there are a lot of artists who have boldly shown a man in the most natural way possible, naked. The notions of eroticism and erotic have been embedded in the wider theme of the human sexuality and those two notions serve as elements through which we as spectators can more profoundly understand the given art and as elements through which the artists can, in great detail, describe the importance and motifs behind their works. Within this topic, it is important to mention the movement of sexual positivity as an extremely valuable element of open sexuality. The goal would be to aspire to that exactly, to be able to show the benefits of freely displaying the human body the way the artist envisioned it. The thing that is encouraging, when it comes to this topic, is that there is a great number of artists (both in the past and the present) who deal exclusively with the notion of human sexuality as an open and tactile idea which can tell a lot about human’s view on his/her own sexuality and the ways in which it affects him/her.
