Abstract
Glazba je gotovo stalan dio svakodnevnog života; svira u pozadini dok vozite, kupujete ili gledate televiziju. No koliko zapravo znamo o glazbi koja nas okružuje, kako je stvorena, kako prerasta s ideje u proizvod ili različitim ljudima koji to omogućuju. Glazbena industrija opći je izraz za sve strane uključene u stvaranje, izvedbu, snimanje, promicanje i upravljanje glazbenim poslovanjem. Razlikovanje nazivanja te mreže poslovnih partnerstava „glazbenom industrijom“ u odnosu na „glazbeni posao“ više se temelji na stigmi povezanoj s potonjim pojmom nego na bilo kojoj tehničkoj razlici. U jednom trenutku, kada se učestalo koristio termin „glazbeni biznis“, umjetnici su često doživljavali iskorištavanje od onih koji su od njihova rada ostvarili ogromnu zaradu. Danas postoje brojne organizacije koje štite prava glazbenika, skladatelja i izvođača. U radu će se opisati općenito pojam glazbene industrije i njezine značajke. U radu je također korišteno empirijsko istraživanje koje se temelji na anketiranju 44 ispitanika. Rezultati ukazuju na stavove ispitanika vezano za glazbu i glazbena događanja tijekom pandemije bolesti COVID-19. Obavljeni su intervjui s pet glazbenika koji su nam dali uvid u svoju glazbenu karijeru tijekom pandemije bolesti COVID-19.
Abstract (english)
Music is an almost constant part of daily life; it plays in the background while you drive, shop, or watch TV. But how much do we know about the music that surrounds us, how it is created, how it goes from an idea to a product, or the various people who make it possible. The music industry is a general term for all parties involved in the creation, performance, recording, promotion, and management of the music business. The distinction in the names of these networks of business partnerships from “music industry” to “music business” is based more on the stigma associated with the latter term than on any technical difference. In the past, when the term “music business” was commonly used, artists were often exploited by those who made large profits from their work. Today, there are numerous organizations that protect the rights of musicians, composers, and performers. This paper describes the general concept of the music industry and its characteristics. It also presents empirical research based on a survey of 44 respondents. The results show the respondents’ attitudes toward music and music events during the COVID-19 pandemic. Interviews were also conducted with 5 musicians who provided insight into their music careers during COVID -19.
