Ono po čemu se razlikuju ljudi jesu vrste sposobnosti i stupanj njihove razvijenosti. Pojmom glazbenih sposobnosti bavio se značajan broj glazbenih pedagoga i psihologa. Procjena kvalitete i razine glazbenih sposobnosti, postali su područje interesa glazbenih pedagoga, dok su glazbeni psiholozi dali doprinos u standardizaciji procjene glazbenih sposobnosti. Najviše se diskusija razvilo u pitanjima je li glazbena sposobnost jedinstvena ili je sastavljena od više sposobnosti, je li nasljedna ili stečena te kod samog definiranja pojma. Ako se prihvati složenost strukture glazbenih sposobnosti, tu pripadaju mogućnost intoniranja, osjećaj za melodiju, ritam, dinamiku, tempo, estetiku itd. Razvijenost glazbenih sposobnosti ovisi o urođenim osobinama, utjecaju okoline i obrazovanju. Edwin Gordon bio je američki glazbeni psiholog, a svojim se radom i djelom svrstava na popis najistaknutijih imena u području glazbenog obrazovanja. Gordonova Teorija učenja glazbe, temelji se na učenju u tzv. sljedovima, a glavni pojmovi koji se vežu uz ovu teoriju su: audijacija, cjelina/dio/cjelina metoda i glazbene sposobnosti. Gordon smatra kako se glazba uči na isti način kao i jezik te navodi kako je audijacija u glazbi ono što je misao u jeziku. Cjelina/dio/cjelina metoda je učenja u kojoj se zadatak koji treba usvojiti raščlanjuje na njegove dijelove (način na koji bi trebalo pristupiti učenju glazbenih djela). Kroz svoja istraživanja i testove došao je do dva vida glazbenih sposobnosti – razvojnih glazbenih sposobnosti i stabiliziranih glazbenih sposobnosti. Gordonovi testovi za ispitivanje glazbenih sposobnosti mogu se primijeniti na svih dobnim skupinama, od najmlađih do odraslih. Testovi namijenjeni mlađim dobnim skupinama (Audie, PMMA, IMMA) mjere razvojne glazbene sposobnosti, dok ostali mjere stabilizirane glazbene sposobnosti. Intermediate Measures od Music Audiation standardizirani je test za ispitivanje razvojnih glazbenih sposobnosti. Namijenjen je učenicima od prvog do šestog razreda. Sastoji se od dva suptesta – tonalnog i ritamskog. Svaki zadatak sadrži dva melodijska ili ritamska obrasca koje ispitanici moraju odrediti jesu li isti ili različiti te zaokružiti dva ista ili različita lica osjećaja. Za rješavanje testa, potrebno je 40 minuta (20 minuta po suptestu). Svi su zadaci ilustrativno prikazani i snimljeni na CD.
Abstract (english) Aptitudes are features that can determine the level of efficacy in specific activities. People differ by whether the area of their aptitudes is a degree of their development. A significant number of music educators and psychologists have dealt with the notion of music aptitudes. While assessment of quality and level of music aptitudes have become an area of interest for music educators, music psychologists oppositely contributed to the standardisation of the music aptitudes’ assessment. The question as to whether music aptitudes is unique or consists of several abilities is genetic or acquired and its core notion has developed many discussions. If the complexity of music aptitudes structure is accepted, this includes the possibility of intonation, sense of melody, rhythm, dynamics, tempo, aesthetics, et cetera. The development of music aptitudes depends on innate characteristics, environmental influence and education. Edwin Gordon was an American music psychologist whose work partially puts him among the most prominent names in the music education field. Gordon’s Music Learning Theory bases on learning in so-called sequences. The main terms associated with this theory are audiation, whole/part/whole method, and music aptitudes. Gordon believed that music is learned in the same way as language, and stated that audiation in music is what thought is in language. Whole/part/whole is a method of study where the task to be adopted breaks down into its parts (how the learning of musical works should be approached). He came to two aspects of music aptitudes through his research and tests – developmental music aptitudes and stabilised music aptitudes. Gordon’s tests to test music aptitudes can be applied to all ages, from youngest to eldest. Tests intended for younger age groups (Audie, PMMA, IMMA) measure developmental music aptitudes whereas others measure stabilised music aptitudes. Intermediate Measures of Music Audiation is a standardised test meant for examining developmental music aptitudes. It is created for students from first to sixth grade. It consists of two subtests = tonal and rhythm. Each task includes two melodic or rhythmic patterns that respondents have to compare and determine whether they are identical or different and circle two same or different smiley faces. It takes 40 minutes to finish the test (20 minutes per subtest). All tasks are illustrated and on CD.
