Abstract
Tijekom embrionalnog i kasnijeg ontogenetskog razvoja, trajna interakcija između proteina i gena dovodi do diferencijalne aktivnosti gena koja usmjerava stanice duž različitih razvojnih linija. Oplodnja inicira proces razvoja novog organizma. Bjelančevine i mRNA koje majka pohranjuje u jajnu stanicu potrebne su za početak razvoja, dok geni u jezgri nose informacije za nove proteine koji preuzimaju razvojni proces. Između procesa oplodnje i organogeneze nalaze se dvije kritične faze, a to su brazdanje i gastrulacija. Na kraju procesa slijedi rast i morfogeneza. Povezivanje znanja o molekularnim aspektima genetike vinske mušice (Drosophila melanogaster), sa znanjem o njezinom razvoju, stvorilo je temelje za napredak razvojne genetike i evolucijske razvojne biologije.
Abstract (english)
During embryonic and later ontogenetic development, the permanent cross-talk between proteins and genes leads to differential gene activity which directs the cells along different developmental pathways. Fertilization initiates the astonishing process of development of a new living being. The proteins and mRNAs deposited into the egg cell by the mother are necessary for the first developmental events, whereas the genes in the nucleus carry the information for new proteins, which take over the developmental process. Between fertilization and organogenesis are two critical stages: cleavage and gastrulation. At the end of process there is growth and morphogenesis. The merging of our knowledge of the molecular aspects of fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster) genetics with knowledge of its development, built the foundations for progress of developmental genetics and evolutionary developmental biology.
