Abstract
U ovom završnom radu proučava se proces regeneracije neurona u mozgu riba koštunjača, ponajviše vrsta Apteronotus leptorhynchus i Danio rerio, koja se događa zbog nanošenja ozljede. Za neuralnu regeneraciju bitan je i proces neurogeneze, odnosno stvaranja novih neurona u mozgu, a sam mehanizam uključuje nekoliko procesa koji se opisuju u ovom radu. To su uklanjanje oštećenih stanica na mjestu ozljede, stanična proliferacija kojom nastaju nove stanice, migracija novih stanica do mjesta ozljede, njihov opstanak i diferencijacija u zrele neurone na mjestu ozljede te njihovo uključivanje u postojeće neuralne krugove. Bližim upoznavanjem mehanizma regeneracije kod riba, postoji mogućnost razumijevanja zašto su ti mehanizmi odsutni kod sisavaca i mogu li se potaknuti čime bi se omogućila terapija trauma mozga i neurodegenerativnih bolesti kod ljudi.
Abstract (english)
In this bachelor thesis we look into the process of neuron regeneration in the brain of teleost fish, mostly species Apteronotus leptorhynchus and Danio rerio, that happens after injury implication. Important for the regeneration is the process of neurogenesis, which is generation of new neuron sin the brain, and the mechanism itself includes a few processes described in this thesis. Those are elimination of damaged cells in the injury site, cell proliferation by which new cells are created, migration of new cells to the injury site and their survival and differentiation into mature neuron sin the injury site, and finally their integration into existing neural network. With closer examination of these mechanisms in fish, there is a possibility of understanding why are those mechanisms absent in mammalian brain and can they be introduced, which would make therapy for brain trauma and neurodegenerative disease in humans possible.
