The 21st century is characterized by various changes among a population and one of the most important changes is a rapid development of information and communication technology, namely computers and the Internet. Because of that, computers and the Internet became a necessity both in private and business life. However, one can say that the importance of the Internet is more noticeable in the business sphere since it provides companies with various information helpful for making important decisions related to business, but also it makes the communication between the company and its internal and external environment much easier. So, the Internet is a global and public network which connects people from all over the world. With the help of the Internet it is quite simple to find all the needed information, and also to communicate with others, privately or related to business. However, in this paper, the highlight will be on the business communication through the Internet. It is important to highlight that the Internet is used in all the aspects of the company - retail, production, accounting, marketing, etc. In this paper it will be explained how is the Internet as the mean of communication used when it comes to marketing. Also, it will be further explained on the example of Ravlic d.o.o. Before explaining the use of the Internet in marketing, the theoretical basis of Internet will be explained. Information about its characteristics will be provided, but also the information about its historical development, advantages and disadvantages, and Internet's potentials for communication.
