Abstract
Od svojega začetka, 2008. godine, blockchain pokazuje veliki potencijal za primjenu u različitim sektorima, od financijskog i bankarskog sektora pa sve do logistike i transporta. Blockchain dobiva sve više važnosti iz dana u dan. Ova tehnologija je ponajviše postala popularna iz rastuće potrebe za transparentnijim sustavima i većom razinom sigurnosti. Neke od najvećih svjetskih korporacija, poput Walmarta, Maerska i IBM-a, su uvidjeli važnosti i potencijal blockchaina te su investirala značajna sredstva u razvoj ove tehnologije. Unutar logističkog sektora blockchain pruže brojne prednosti. Počevši od veće transparentnosti i mogućnosti dijeljenja informacija unutar opskrbnog lanca, smanjenja grešaka, lakšeg praćenje paketa te onemogućavanja manipulacije informacijama. Dakle, tema ovog diplomskog rada je blockchain tehnologija te na koji način ona može utjecati na logistički sektor. Detaljnije će se opisati, povijest blockchaina, kako funkcionira te koji mu je potencijal i kojim se područjima može primijeniti. Zatim će obraditi tema logistike uz opis svrhe logistike, zadaće logistike i podsustava unutar logistike. Također će se opisati RFID tehnologija koja je ključna za primjer opisan u raspravi o slučaju Overseas Expressa. Na kraju će se opisati problem u Overseas Expressu te na koji način blockchain tehnologija uz pomoć RFID tehnologije može se poboljšati poslovanje poduzeća.
Abstract (english)
Since its inception in 2008. blockchain has showed potential for application in various sectors, from the financial and banking sector to logistics and transportation. Blockchain is more and more important by each day. This technology has become popular because of the growing need for more transparent systems and a higher level of security. Some of the world's largest corporations, such as Walmart, Maersk and IBM, have recognized the importance and potential of blockchain and have invested significant resources in developing this technology. Blockchain provides many benefits within the logistics industry. It starts with higher transparency and the ability to share information within the supply chain, reduce errors, makes tracking packages easier and disables manipulation of information. So, the subject of this graduate paper is blockchain technology and how it can affect the logistics sector. First, the history of blockchain technology will be described, followed by the principles on which it works and then we will describe the potential of blockchain and in which areas can it be applied. Then the topic of logistics will be described, starting with a description of the purpose of logistics, followed by logistical tasks and subsystems within logistics. Also, RFID technology will be described as it the key to the example of the Overseas Express case study. Finally, the problems within Overseas Express will be described and how blockchain technology with the help of RFID technology can improve the company.
