The purpose of this paper is to analyze and see if there is birdwatch tourism potential in Croatia. In order to understand the concept of birdwaching, it is important to first understand the concepts of tourism, selective forms of tourism and rural tourism. Tourism is today one of the most significant, most popular and fastest growing branches in Croatia and in the world. Tourism is a term that represents traveling people away from their permanent residence, which does not last for less than a day and for more than a year. The first journeys begin to be due to education when wealthy nobles travel to their studies to other states. The first beginnings of tourism in Croatia are still in the age of Old Rome, and it is intensely beginning to develop in the 19th century by building the first accommodation facilities. The paper presents and explains selective forms of tourism with an emphasis on rural tourism. Rural tourism is tourism in rural areas, in rural tourism we hunt wilderness, agrotourism, ecotourism, birdwatch tourism ... Birdwaching is activity from afar, while bird watching is a must-have for non-threatening birds and their habitats. In Europe, recently, a large number of birds were the least troublesome and now endangered. It is of paramount importance to preserve birds and to increase efforts to preserve the bird habitat and the overall nature that surrounds us. Croatia has great potential for birdwatch tourism development, and the Bird Watch Center opened its doors in 2015 and has since been trying to preserve birds. The Municipality of Nijemci has made an excellent project to launch this vision of tourism. Progress has already been made, and the municipality is recognized as a destination for bird watchers, but of course it is not necessary to continue developing the tourist offer.
