There are different forms and models of savings in the offers of Croatian banks, therefore, besides classic deposits with predetermined amounts that are deposited, there are also models that allow additional payment of funds during the contract. A fixed, variable or interest rate premium can be negotiated. Savings can be in kunas or other foreign currencies. Whatever the reason for the savings, this will provide additional revenue and make it easier to cover unplanned expenditures. The amount of interest depends on the savings model, period and amount of money invested. The most common form of savings is long-term deposit savings, where the funds are deposited with one of the banks that has a fixed interest rate and the client enters into a contract in which the client agrees not to use the money until the term expires. Saving with multiple payments is a type of savings that initially has a smaller amount of money, and as one gets to fundings, one pays into savings according to one’s possibilities. Savings with a premium is a form of term savings whereby, after the expiry of the term, the principal increases by interest and the agreed premium. Children’s savings is a form of term savings that is opened on behalf of a minor child, with one parent as a legal representative without the presence of a minor child. The minimum amount that a parent can dispose of monthly is set by the Ministry of Social Policy and Youth. By acquiring the legal age, the account holder (child) may independently dispose of the funds in his account. This thesis is based on a comparative analysis of long-term savings offered by three Croatian banks, namely: Privredna banka d.d. Zagreb, Hrvatska poštanska banka d.d. Zagreb and Addiko banka d.d. Zagreb.
