The subject of research of this graduate thesis is the Common Agricultural Policy as one of the most important policies managed by the European Union. Following the introduction and methodology, a Common Agricultural Policy has been defined, which is a set of regulations and measures implemented by Member States with the aim of subsidizing and improving their agricultural sector. The goals of the policy and its principles are stated, as well as the development through history and reforms that have changed according to certain periods. After defining the Common Agricultural Policy, its purpose, financing methods and agricultural programs, the functioning of the Common Agricultural Policy in the Republic of Croatia is described, which is more than needed in this area to improve and develop the agricultural sector because the Republic of Croatia has good opportunities and potentials. The future of the Common Agricultural Policy is also described as the new budget period enters, and measures and reforms are needed to simplify and modernize the Common Agricultural Policy in all EU member states.
