Aim of the paper is to bring an overview of components of a website as a starting point of digital presence from a business perspective and to analyze components of a website with an emphasis on content, usability, aesthetics and user experience (UX). Starting with a website, the paper contains an explanation of the process of creating a website via Wordpress or Shopify, which simplify the process entirely. Possibilities of using tools from mentioned applications while creating and editing websites are presented, as are the methods of how these tools contribute to user experience. As the websites are indexed on Internet search engines and a major part of traffic comes precisely from these search engines like Google and Bing, the paper contains more information on the significance of marketing activities on search engines, methods of promotion on search engines and how to optimize the website for search engines. E-mail marketing is another chapter which is covered in this paper and it contains information on the significance of e-mail marketing for websites; which tools are available for executing marketing activities via e-mail and which strategies are eligible to implement through the usage of e-mail marketing.
