Abstract
Posljednja dva desetljeća označena su otvaranjem ekonomija diljem svijeta s ciljem poticanja međunarodne suradnje. Izravna strana ulaganja pomogla su u ostvarivanju toga cilja. Izravno ulaganja olakšavaju izlaz na svjetska tržišta, sudjelovanje domaćih poduzeća u međunarodnoj proizvodnji, ali i u stvaranju veza između inozemnih i domaćih poduzeća. Neizravno ulaganja mogu pospješiti ekonomski rast u vidu prijenosa tehnologije, kvalificirane radne snage, know-how, uvođenja novih proizvodnih procesa. Prilikom privlačenja izravnih stranih ulaganja potrebno je znati na što investitori obraćaju pažnju. Vrlo bitan segment im je indeks ekonomskih sloboda. Potencijalnim investitorima je važna vladavina prava. Investitori prije investiraju u zemlju koja ima veću razinu ekonomske slobode. Prilikom privlačenja investicije potrebno je paziti da trošak investicije ne bude veći od poticaja koje zemlja primatelj daje kako bi privukla investicije. U ovom će se diplomskom radu provesti usporedba Republike Hrvatske sa ostalim odabranim državama, a na kraju rada donijet će se adekvatan zaključak o trenutnoj situaciji s izravnim stranim ulaganjima u Hrvatsku.
Abstract (english)
In last two decades national economics has been wide open with aim to encourage international cooperation. Foreign direct investion (FDI) are one of the main instrument of that process. FDI facilitates entire to markets all over the world, participation of domestic firms in international production and in creating relationships between domestic and foreign firms. On the other side, indirect investments can improve economic growth because they can enable new technology, skilled labour, know-how, new manufacturing process. When it comes to FDI, it is very important to know what investors want. One of the key indicators is index of economic freedom. Investors prefer to invest in countries that have higher level of economic freedom. During the process of investment it is also important that the cost of investment is lower in comparation with incentive that domestic country receives. In this master thesis Republic of Croatia will be compared with other selected countries and at the end will be present an conclusion of curent situation of FDI in Republic of Croatia.
