It is important and necessary for higher education institutions, as actors in the specific education market, to understand clients (students) in order to be able to cooperate with them in a better quality and better way - in order to be able to provide an educational service with which clients (students) will be satisfied. This doctoral dissertation investigated the role of communication in creating client (student) satisfaction in professional higher education. In the empirical part of the research, an attempt was made to determine whether there is a correlation between the satisfaction of clients (students) with the experience of studying at a selected institution and the satisfaction of clients (students) with communication in the teaching process (in the relations between: teacher - students and students - student department office) and which are the student preferences of marketing communication of the selected higher education institution. To verify the hypotheses, the method of questioning was used on a sample of students of the second and third year of professional undergraduate studies of six higher education institutions, with a corrective method (supplement to the research) - the method of questioning through focus groups (through four focus groups). The results indicate that the dimension of student satisfaction with communication with the teacher (interpersonal and mediated) is a significant predictor of satisfaction with the study experience, with interpersonal communication with the teacher being the preferred method of communication. The results of the research reveal the role of communication in creating client satisfaction in professional higher education: communication is a significant dimension that affects the satisfaction with the study experience of clients (students). Knowledge from this dissertation can serve higher education institutions in professional higher education in forming appropriate business strategies - in order to deliver value for their clients (students).
