Abstract | Food donation is an action needed in reality. In a world where the produced food is bigger then the amount eaten, where food waste is a continuous problem that needs to be solved, where climate change is a serious issue, where we have numerous people who are in poverty – food donation comes as an resolution. Food donation is an act of donating food to needed sources in order to resolve the problem of food waste, or poverty, or any problem related to food. Human Resource Management as a function is very important for this topic since the key for food donation is motivation. Motivation is the urge inside the person to achieve something, to fulfill a goal. The person will not be in total peace if the urge isn't satisfied. In a business sense, every company should motivate its employees to donate food. It is good for the local environment, it's good for the brand of the company, its good for making better relationships between the company and the environment and for the culture of the company. A company can motivate its employees to donate food in many ways. From puting bonuses on salaries depending on the amount of food donated, offering discounts in company’s cafeteria for the act of donating food, by organizing events, having donation as a part of the culture, to different partnerships, personal connections, requirements in job descriptions of leaders that they have to make certain amount of donation in a year to be a leader, organizing different donations by days, or having internal events where employees can donate, and to raise awareness in the company by having seminars on the theme of food donation, climate change, food waste and so on. |
