In June 2016, the people of Great Britain voted to leave the European Union in a referendum. At the end of January 2020, it officially ceased to be part of the Union. Separation from the most important economic integration of the world means fundamental changes in the politics of Great Britain. This paper analyzes the new foreign trade policy of Great Britain, which was launched after the exit. Significant changes occurred in foreign trade with the EU, which was negative for a long period of time, and continued to record a deficit after exiting. Foreign trade also decreased with other countries of the world, but to a lesser extent. Through rollover agreements, Great Britain managed to keep the agreements with most of its trade partners with whom it cooperated within the EU membership period, and several important new trade agreements were concluded during the period of independent activity on the market. Agreements with the European Union, which enabled both sides to continue trade cooperation, and accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, which made Great Britain the first European country to join that agreement, were highlighted. However, it will take a lot of time to make up for the loss on the European market. Leaving the Union brought most problems in the distribution of goods, since the border rules are stricter and additional administration was introduced. A significant problem is the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, which represents the only British land border with the European Union.
