Abstract
Digital technologies are changing society, but also the economy in which Europeans live, and today many activities are performed in a much different way than it was the case only a few decades ago. The increasing use of the Internet and new technologies have changed the lifestyle, values and habits of people. The aforementioned certainly affects the way of thinking and acting, as well as the skills and abilities that develop and become important. Digital technologies have also caused a change in business models, and the development of new business models based on Internet platforms has led to the creation of new forms of exchange and has enabled small and medium-sized enterprises and even individuals to compete on the European market. This change opens up many issues that are faced by the creators of regulatory frameworks, be it at the national, regional or global level. The future of European entrepreneurship will depend on the speed and degree of acceptance of new technologies in the existing European value chains and on the readiness of the system at all levels to adapt its regulatory frameworks to the challenges brought by the fourth industrial revolution. The main premise should be digitalization in the service of entrepreneurship.
