Nautical tourism is specific because it depends on maritime and coastal region, natural geographical prerequisites, specific infrastructure and other specific factors. It consists of tri segments, Charter tourism, Cruse and Marines. Mega-yachts is sub segment of segment Marinas that is very specific and it has high financial value in comparison with other elements of nautical tourism. Unfortunately it is unattended in comparison to other elements of nautical tourism. The less representative sub segment of segment Marinas in Republic of Croatia is mega-yachts that should provide the biggest opportunities for increase of finances. It is necessary to adjust present situation and carry out analysis that will result with guidelines defining strategically aims of marinas for acceptance of mega-yachts in Croatia with trends in nautical tourism. Studies that were conducted and strategic guidelines that were brought by countries that are leaders in nautical tourism are poor with concrete data about future needs for berths for mega-yachts. The aim of this research is making of strategic guidelines that can provide further growth and development of marinas in sub segment of mega-yachts, but could also be a good backup for lot of other activities that are necessary for this segment of nautical tourism. It should assure their whole year residence in Croatia that would bring to economic development of marinas and it would also speed up development of accompanying services. Five determined hypothesis were tested and confirmed in this study. Two standard research methods were used. Secondary data was collected by research method ˝round the table˝, while primary data was collected by query on Croatian and English language, with personal interview and observation. Results from this research have shown that Croatia has potential to attract mega-yachts, offering variety of services and development of services that will attract mega-yachts and extend touristic season. All mentioned contributes to employment of inhabitants, attracting investors, rising of economics standard and development of local community.
