Abstract
Provedeno istraživanje imalo je za cilj analizirati postojeću zakonsku regulativu vezanu za duljinu trajanja revizorskog angažmana i rotaciju revizorskog društva, utvrditi argumente za i protiv obvezne rotacije revizorskih društava te utvrditi kolika je prosječna duljina trajanja revizorskog angažmana. Također, cilj je bio utvrditi postoji li razlika u duljini trajanja revizorskog angažmana između revizorskih društava koja spadaju u „Veliku četvorku“ i ostalih, manjih revizijskih društava kao i analizirati utječe li vrsta revizijskog mišljenja na duljinu trajanja revizorskog angažmana. Na kraju, istraživalo se postoji li povezanost između financijskih pokazatelja uspješnosti poslovanja s duljinom trajanja revizorskog angažmana, odnosno je li revizorski angažman dulji ako je poslovanje poduzeća uspješnije. Istraživanje je provedeno na uzorku od 87 poduzeća koja su 2019. godine kotirala na Zagrebačkoj burzi. Podaci su se prikupili iz financijskih izvještaja navedenih poduzeća te su se na temelju njih višestrukom regresijskom analizom i analizom korelacije analizirali čimbenici koji utječu na duljinu trajanja angažmana revizijskih društava. Istraživanjem se došlo do zaključka da modificirano revizorsko mišljenje, lošije poslovanje poduzeća i viša razina apsolutnih obračunskih veličina ne utječe negativno da duljinu trajanja revizorskog angažmana. Također, ne postoji razlika u duljini trajanja angažmana između revizorskih društava iz Velike četvorke i ostalih revizorskih društava.
Abstract (english)
The purpose of the research was to analyze the existing legislation related to the duration of the audit engagement and the rotation of the audit firm, to establish arguments for and against the mandatory rotation of audit firms and to determine the average duration of the audit engagement. Also, the aim was to determine whether there is a difference in the duration of the audit engagement between the audit firms belonging to the "Big Four" and other, smaller audit firms and to analyze whether the type of audit opinion affects the duration of the audit engagement. Finally, it was investigated whether there is a relationship between financial performance indicators with the duration of the audit engagement, or whether the audit engagement is longer if the company's operations are more successful. The research was conducted on a sample of 87 companies that were listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange in 2019. Data were collected from the financial statements of these companies and based on them, multiple regression analysis and correlation analysis analyzed the factors that affect the duration of the engagement of audit firms. The research concluded that the modified audit opinion, poorer business performance and higher levels of absolute accounting values do not negatively affect the duration of the audit engagement. Also, there is no difference in the length of engagement between the audit firms of the Big Four and other audit firms.
