Abstract
Bihevioralna ekonomija je sve učestalije područje istraživanja brojnih znanstvenika te u novije vrijeme doživljava svoj procvat. Njeno postojanje razvilo se kao kritika tradicionalnim ekonomskim teorijama koje investitore smatraju kao potpuno racionalna bića koja odluke donose isključivo kako bi maksimizirali profit. U ovome radu teoretski je opisana problematika tradicionalne ekonomske teorije te predstavljena bihevioralna ekonomija kao podgrana ekonomije. Opisani su najčešći bihevioralni faktori koji se uzimaju kao relevantni te su za empirijsko istraživanje odabrana sljedeća četiri: pretjerano samopouzdanje, averzija prema gubitku, utjecaj krda te percepcija rizika. Rezultati empirijskog istraživanja su pokazali kako svi promatrani faktori osim utjecaja krda, koje nije statistički značajno, utječu na donošenje odluke o investiranju. Također su odabrane tri demografske odrednice (spol, dob i obrazovanje) kako bi se ispitao i njihov utjecaj na promatrane bihevioralne faktore. Pokazalo se kako spol utječe na bihevioralne faktore pretjerano samopouzdanje, percepciju rizika i utjecaj krda (pri razini signifikantnosti 5%), dob samo na utjecaj krda (pri razini signifikantnosti 10%) dok obrazovanje ne utječe na bihevioralne faktore, a posljedično time i na investicijske odluke.
Abstract (english)
Behavioral economics is an increasingly common field of research for many scientists and has recently flourished. Its existence has developed as a critique of traditional economic theories that consider investors as completely rational beings who make decisions solely to maximize profits. This paper theoretically describes the problems of traditional economic theory and presents behavioral economics as a sub-branch of economics. The most common behavioral factors that are considered relevant are described, and the following four were selected for empirical research: overconfidence, aversion to loss, herd influence, and risk perception. The results of the empirical research showed that all the observed factors, except the influence of the herd (which is not statistically significant), influence the decision to invest. Three demographic determinants (gender, age and education) were also selected to examine their impact on the observed behavioral factors. Gender has been shown to affect behavioral factors of overconfidence, risk perception and herd influence (at a significance level of 5%), age affects only herd influence (at a significance level of 10%) while education does not affect behavioral factors and consequently investment decisions.
