Abstract
Cikloturizam predstavlja putovanje biciklom kao glavno prijevozno sredstvo ili kao dodatna aktivnost kod boravka u određenoj destinaciji. Zbog porasta svijesti o zdravom življenju, cikloturisti postaju sve učestaliji gosti u Europskoj uniji, a tako i u Hrvatskoj. Sa obiljem prirodnih ljepota i bogate kulturne baštine, Hrvatska posjeduje idealne preduvjete za razvoj cikloturizma. Splitsko-dalmatinska županija razvila je mrežu biciklističkih staza 2017. godine i tako se pozicionirala kao jedna od najprivlačnijih destinacija za cikloturiste u Hrvatskoj. U sklopu SDŽ, i otok Brač je dobio svoju mrežu biciklističkih staza. Iako je uloženo mnogo truda u razvoj i dalje ostaje mnogo mjesta za daljnji napredak i razvoj.
Abstract (english)
Cyclotourism represents traveling by bicycle as the main means of transportation or as an additional activity when staying in a certain destination. Due to the growing awareness of healthy living, cycle tourists are becoming more and more frequent guests in the European Union, as well as in Croatia. With an abundance of natural beauty and a rich cultural heritage, Croatia has ideal prerequisites for the development of cycle tourism. The Split-Dalmatia County developed a network of bicycle paths in 2017 and thus positioned itself as one of the most attractive destinations for bicycle tourists in Croatia. As part of the Split-Dalmatia County, the island of Brač also got its own network of bicycle paths. Although a lot of effort has been put into the development, there is still a lot of room for further progress and development.
