Abstract | Temelj uspješnosti gospodarstva svake države je nacionalna konkurentnost. Udruživanje relevantnih dionika određene industrijske grane u klaster konkurentnosti rezultira stvaranjem poticajnog makroekonomskog i mikroekonomskog okruženja. |
Abstract (english) | The basis of the successful economy of every country is national competitiveness. Connection of relevant stakeholders of a certain industrial branch into a competitiveness cluster results in the creation of a stimulating macroeconomic and microeconomic environment. The establishment of competitiveness clusters has led to a new concept in the strategic rethinking of achieving competitive advantage. The focus of strategic positioning is now on the knowledge as the basis of achieving innovation, productivity, flexibility, and sustainable development. The goal of establishing a competitiveness cluster is to create a network of stakeholders that provides flexibility, a high level of innovation, a developed technological and information infrastructure, as well as the connection of stakeholders that have a common goal on the market, which is to achieve competitiveness that leads to growth, development and prosperity. Croatian defence industry competitiveness cluster (CDICC) gathers all the stakeholders of the Croatian defence industry, from the public, private and scientific research sectors which can, in any way, provide support to the defence industry in its growth and development. CDICC gathers relevant companies from the sphere of the defence industry, and successfully implements the goals stated in clusters vision and mission, which emphasize raising the level of competitiveness of the defence industry sector by gathering a specialized and dynamic base of manufacturers which will, through cooperation, be able to respond to any needs of modern defence policy. The strategic analysis of CDICC through qualitative and quantitative methods showed that CDICC is successfully building an industrial base of producers which are ready to participate competitively and be recognized on the global market. In the process of achieving these goals, cluster focuses on development and investments in new technologies, innovative products with export potential and high added value. GEM model for determining the level of competitiveness of the cluster showed that CDICC achieves a significant level of competitiveness, and in terms of future strategic positioning, can create the conditions necessary for further growth and development, in order to bring added value to the economy of Croatia. |
