Investments are a crucial factor required for the growth and the development of companies, and one of the ways to finance them is through loans. With the growth of uncertainty, constant and rapid changes, and the complexity of businesses and their environments, a loan for the purpose of business investments can over time become a burden for the company and threaten its operations. In this paper several models for financing investments have been presented, such as the classical and the alternative loan amortization models. The classical models include the loan amortization model with nominally equal annuities and the loan amortization model with nominally equal installments ratios. The chosen alternative models include the loan amortization model with a fixed ratio of annuities to net effects, the model with the initial parameter selection and the model with periodic annuity payment skipping. The purpose of introducing alternative loan amortization models into wider use is to align the loan repayment dynamics with the financial performance of the company. The approach like this requires analyzing and forecasting results and applying mathematical models, which makes it complex. The aim of the paper is to demonstrate that alternative loan amortization models are a better solution in the debtor-creditor relationship and to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of each model. The paper includes repayment schedules for each of the presented models using the example of a company from tourism sector. These schedules are created using financial modeling methods.
