The town of Samobor is a beautiful town located not far from Zagreb, known for its rich history. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of cultural tourism on the tourist destination with special emphasis on Samobor, analyzing its development and features. It will be shown how the tourist offer shapes the overall perception of the city of Samobor as a destination, and the positive and negative impacts of tourism on the destination and the local population will be explained. Samobor needs a review of its tourism strategy to regain its former glory and competitiveness on the market. This includes the need to diversify the tourist offer, create innovative and attractive content, and invest in infrastructure and marketing. It is crucial to listen to the needs of modern travelers and adapt to their preferences, so that Samobor once again becomes an attractive destination for tourists from all over the world. Only through systematic planning, investment in tourism development and cooperation between local authorities, tourism stakeholders and the community can a sustainable and prosperous development of tourism in Samobor be ensured.
