Abstract
U ovom radu tumači se i interpretira problem prirodnih katastrofa te uloga kriznog menadžmenta u turizmu. Krizni menadžment može se odrediti kao skup funkcija ili procesa kojima je cilj identificirati, izučiti i predvidjeti moguće krizne situacije i uspostaviti posebne načine koji će organizaciji/destinaciji omogućiti sprečavanje krize ili da se s njom izbore i da je savladaju. Turizam je posebno osjetljiv na katastrofe i krize. Velike prirodne katastrofe uvijek donose rasprostranjeno uništavanje i tugu gdje god se pojavile. Posebna pažnja posvećena je trima velikim prirodnim katastrofama u svijetu: potresu u Japanu, uraganu Katrina u SAD-u, te tsunamiju u Tajlandu, uz objašnjenje krizne situacije, reakcije i izazova s kojima su se susrele navedene zemlje, suočene s tim nepredvidivim iznenadnim događajima.
Abstract (english)
This paper presents and interprets the problem of natural disasters and the role of crisis management in tourism. Crisis management can be defined as a set of function that aim to identify, predict and investigate he possible emergency situations and to establish special ways that will enable the organization to prevent the crisis or to be with her choices and to overcame it. Tourism is especially vulnerable to disasters and crises. Large natural disasters always bring widespread destruction and sorrow wherever they occur. Particular attention is dedicated to the world biggest natural disasters – the earthquake in Japan, Hurricane Katrina in the United States, and the tsunami in Thailand, with an explanation of the crisis situation, the reaction, the challenges and the consequences with which they met these countries faced with sudden, unpredictable events.
