The topic of the paper is the economic diplomacy of multinational companies on the example of Orbico d.o.o. The aim of the paper is to analyze the importance of economic diplomacy for the business of multinational companies in the modern global environment. The development of modern economic diplomacy, as it has been carried out for the past 50 years or so, has been made possible by processes such as globalization, trade liberalization and strengthening of trade between countries. Given that economies participate in international exchange and are in constant interaction, there is a need for a proactive economy and political cooperation, which is necessary for the progress and development of the economy. Croatian economic diplomacy played a key role in the post-war period, the transition of the Croatian economy and joining numerous international organizations that enabled the recovery and development of the Croatian economy. Although Croatian economic diplomacy has tried to transform the model of operational activity on several occasions since the independence of the Republic of Croatia, unfortunately, the more concrete results of this transformation process are still not visible. For a better understanding of the relationship between Croatian economic diplomacy and companies, an interview will be conducted with the owner of Orbico d.o.o. Branko Roglić with the aim of showing how much economic diplomacy has an impact on the operations of a company. The research will contribute to a better understanding of the impact of economic diplomacy on the operations and international expansion of multinational companies.
