Corporate security, which encompasses the protection of assets, information, personnel, and business from various threats, has become essential for maintaining business continuity and protection in turbulent times. The pandemic has caused a number of changes in safety practices, including the implementation of new health safety measures, technological innovations, and the adaptation of operational protocols. This thesis combines primary data sources, such as interviews with relevant stakeholders at Rijeka Airport, and secondary sources, such as publications and research papers, to provide a comprehensive insight into the topic. The findings indicate that the pandemic has caused numerous threats to corporate security, such as the spread of infection among passengers and staff and reduced operational capacity due to staff shortages, ultimately threatening the financial stability of airports. The reduction in the number of flights made it easier to control passengers, but at the same time, it brought financial challenges. The introduction of new security measures was key to the adaptation, including staffing in shifts, working from home for administrative staff, and strict health control protocols. Cooperation with competent institutions such as HZJZ, EASA, and HACZ enabled compliance with new regulations and the implementation of safety protocols in accordance with the latest guidelines. Effective staff training and continuous review of security plans are key elements that have enabled airports to successfully respond to the challenges of the pandemic, ensuring passenger and staff safety and business continuity. As a whole, the thesis at hand provides insight into the importance of corporate security as a key element of protecting organizations, especially airports, in times of crisis and change.
